Drive From San Diego To Grand Canyon December

The Grit winks

only has one eye. But what the wring. And 'The Grit Coen Brothers, released in Italian theaters Friday, February 18. A movie that knows and likes to please. A western hard and pure, with few frills but a great technique. The Coen arrive at the ultimate kind of cinema made in the USA, the Western precisely, after it touches on several occasions, most recently with No Country for Old Men . The Grit is a typical story from the border to appeal to both the American Academy and then to the jury, with all the facts of the case: action, sentiment, travel, relationships with the wilderness . It is a wonderful protagonist, Jeff Bridges, who seems born to the role of this outlaw sheriff, tough but basically good, obviously drunk like 95% of the characters played by Academy Award winner 2010.
Here is Rooster Cogburn, hired by the fourteen year-old Mattie Ross, played by an excellent Haileen Steinfield, to hunt down the murderer of his father. But Tom Chaney has now escaped into Indian territory and it takes guts to follow him, or just grit. Apart from the improbable couple together LaBoeuf Texas Ranger, which has the face of an increasingly versatile Matt Damon.
The Coens adapt the book by Charles Portis, True A Man for Mattie Ross, produced by Spielberg and make it throw an eye to classic cinema. With his customary humor, especially in the characterization of the gang of criminals. It looks like Fargo, there is also a woman had come to terms with herself and her own inner strength, a view from the border. There the snow, the dust here, but the gist is the same. What is missing is the taste than usual for the break, the deconstruction of gender, typical of the Coen filmography. But we remain glued to the screen for the whole vision, thanks to a masterful director and a script that does not beat in vain.
There are those who complain. But cos'avranno meant? What is the message we have sought to convey? Why have not done a western most atypical? etc.. etc.. Who cares, The Grit is a good movie.
