The Wrestler . Come aveva fatto con Mickey Rourke, stavolta Aronofsky dipinge il film sul volto e sul corpo di Natalie Portman. Un corpo graffiato, lacerato, eppure perfetto. Le atmosfere claustrofobiche sono accentuate dallo stile di ripresa, con camera quasi sempre a mano e ritmo nervoso. Rourke e Portman, magnifica, sono tutti e due malati. Imprigionati in their character, they both bow to their fate. And the feeling of inevitability is strong the first few minutes of viewing. The resulting film is disturbing, almost disturbing in its beauty. Some people complain of psychological aspects, "banal", they say. "Nothing new." Fine, but if you get a bit 'deeper into the film field, we realize that the intention of Aronofsky was not interested in making a psychoanalytic treatment.
